Pharmacy Technician, IV Admix, Nights, Baptist South
About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered IV Admix Pharmacy Technician at Baptist South. This is a full-time night-shift role on a 7-on/7-off schedule with rotating weekends. The technician works in the IV room and primarily in the central pharmacy, preparing sterile compounds and providing medications for the hospital. Duties also include restocking OR anesthesia workstations and medication cabinets. The role involves wearing full PPE throughout the shift, working in a team environment, and standing for extended periods. The technician assists the pharmacist on duty with medication preparation and distribution and works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include compounding IV admixtures and preparing TPN in compliance with USP 797 standards.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- High school diploma.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
- Driver's license.
- Ability to wear full PPE throughout the shift, work in a team environment, and stand for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Sterile compounding experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT).
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist on duty in preparing and distributing medications.
- Fill automated dispensing cabinets and unit-dose medication orders and envelopes.
- Perform basic reconstitution of oral suspensions.
- Maintain drug inventory and package medications.
- Prepare IV admixtures and TPN in compliance with USP 797 standards.
- Restock OR anesthesia workstations and medication cabinets.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
