About The Position

Omnicare is seeking a Front End Pharmacy Technician to support its closed-door pharmacy serving skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. The technician performs order-entry tasks and collaborates with pharmacy team members in the medication-dispensing process, working alongside pharmacists to help ensure accuracy and provide excellent customer service. This role will be employed by Omnicare, which will continue as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.

Requirements

• Be a certified, licensed, or registered pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
• Have at least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Have a verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
• PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform order-entry tasks as part of the medication-dispensing process.
• Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and the information or response required.
• Calculate and/or verify correct dosages based on prescriptions.
• Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
• Provide the dispensing pharmacist with information about allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
• Create and maintain accurate customer records.
