Pharmacy Technician, Front End Full Time (Evenings)

About The Position
Omnicare is hiring a Front End Pharmacy Technician for its closed-door pharmacy serving skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. The technician performs order-entry tasks and collaborates with colleagues in the medication-dispensing process, working alongside pharmacists to support accuracy and customer service. The location operates 24 hours a day, with shifts available from mid-morning to late evening. This position will be employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.
Requirements
- Be a certified, licensed, or registered pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- PTCB National Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform medication order-entry tasks as part of the dispensing process.
- Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and the information or response required.
- Calculate and/or verify correct dosages based on prescriptions.
- Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
- Provide the dispensing pharmacist with information about allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
- Create and maintain accurate customer records.
- Collaborate with team members and pharmacists to ensure order accuracy and provide customer service.
