About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech provides efficient and courteous service to customers, supports prescription processing, assists with insurance claims and payments, stocks pharmacy and over-the-counter products, and helps maintain a clean and organized department. The role also includes operating a cash register and may include additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Answer telephone calls and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions and telephone refill requests.
• Gather information needed to prepare prescriptions.
• Record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed.
• Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Stock over-the-counter products and pharmacy department supplies.
• Place completed prescriptions in the pickup area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verify payments.
• Help customers find over-the-counter products.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Operate a cash register.
• Perform additional job duties as needed.
