About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech supports pharmacy operations by providing efficient, courteous customer service and assisting with prescription processing, inventory, insurance claims, and checkout. The role includes handling customer questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment, entering prescription-related information into a computer, stocking products and supplies, and maintaining a clean work area. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Answer telephone calls and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions and telephone refill requests.
• Gather information needed to prepare prescriptions.
• Record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed.
• Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into a computer.
• Stock over-the-counter products.
• Place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verify payments.
• Help customers find over-the-counter products.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Assist in maintaining and stocking pharmacy department supplies.
• Operate a cash register.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
