About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech provides efficient and courteous service to customers while supporting prescription processing and pharmacy department operations. The role handles customer questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment, assists with prescription information and data entry, supports insurance claims and payments, stocks products and supplies, and maintains a clean work area. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Answer telephone calls and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions and telephone refill requests.
• Gather and record information needed to prepare and dispense prescriptions.
• Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Stock over-the-counter products and pharmacy department supplies.
• Place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verifying payments.
• Help customers find over-the-counter products.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Operate the cash register.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
