About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech provides efficient and courteous customer service in the pharmacy department. The role supports prescription intake and preparation, data entry, insurance claims, product stocking, and general pharmacy operations. The position may include additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Answer telephone calls and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions and telephone refill requests.
• Gather and record information needed to prepare prescriptions before they are dispensed.
• Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Stock over-the-counter products and pharmacy department supplies.
• Place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verify payments.
• Help customers find over-the-counter products.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Operate the cash register.
• Perform additional job duties as needed.
