About The Position

Shields Health Solutions is hiring a Pharmacy Refill Technician to support the pharmacy team and help ensure accurate, timely filling and delivery of specialty medications. The position assists patients through the refill process, handles inbound and outbound calls, and contributes to efficient pharmacy operations.

The technician provides assistance to patients, providers, and staff; coordinates refill requests and prescription information; supports claims processing; and performs accurate data entry. Computer and data-entry skills will be evaluated as part of the pre-employment process.

Requirements

• State-registered Pharmacy Technician in Mississippi.
• At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication, organization, and technology skills.
• Empathy, integrity, and a team-first mindset.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to navigate the internet and web-based platforms.
• Pass a data-entry and computer-skills assessment as part of the pre-employment process.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, knowledgeable assistance to patients, providers, and staff.
• Make outbound refill calls and process requests promptly.
• Answer and triage incoming pharmacy calls.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists or clinicians.
• Coordinate medication refills and complete accurate data entry.
• Assist with claim adjudication and troubleshoot rejected claims.
