About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist/Groomer to provide grooming services and attentive care to pets. The role combines grooming, guest and customer service, maintaining a clean grooming area, and supporting business growth by identifying and communicating additional service needs. This is a part-time position with a schedule seeking availability on Saturdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Compensation is 50% commission on grooms and 40% commission on baths; a sign-on bonus and additional bonuses are available.

Pet Paradise is a full-service pet care destination offering pet day camp, boarding, grooming, and veterinary care. The company operates or is developing more than 60 locations across nine states. Team members receive ongoing training and may develop skills for other pet-care careers within the company. Employees’ pets may receive complimentary Pet Day Camp and boarding, as well as discounts on grooming and veterinary care at company locations and clinics.

Requirements

• One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Customer-service orientation and excellent verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds.
• Ability to safely and comfortably handle canines and felines of various sizes.
• Strong work ethic; organized, reliable, and a team player.
• Ability to maintain a clean and healthy environment for guests.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers, explain available and completed services, and communicate costs.
• Safely and professionally groom several pets per day, using the required physical ability and stamina.
• Check pets for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
• Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express external anal glands.
• Bathe pets with appropriate shampoo and conditioner; demat, brush, and fluff-dry them.
• Maintain the grooming room, including cleaning cages, tubs, and tables; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.
• Grow the customer base and service volume through calls, cross-selling, and identifying potential service needs during downtime.
• Greet and check in guests professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Resort Manager and/or Grooming Manager.
