Pet Stylist / Groomer - Lawrenceville
About The Position
Pet Paradise is seeking a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist/Groomer to provide grooming services and attentive care to pets. The role includes consulting with customers about available services and costs, safely grooming multiple pets per day, and helping grow the grooming customer base. Groomers maintain a clean and healthy grooming environment and work with the resort team to support pets and their parents. This is a part-time position requiring Sunday availability. Pay is commission-based: 50% on grooms and 40% on baths. A sign-on bonus and additional bonuses are available.
Requirements
- One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer-service orientation and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds and ability to safely and comfortably handle canines and felines of various sizes.
- Strong work ethic; organized, reliable, and a team player.
- Ability to maintain a clean and healthy environment for guests.
- Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Physical ability and stamina to groom multiple pets per day safely and skillfully.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers, explain available and completed services, and communicate costs.
- Safely and professionally groom several pets per day, using the physical ability and stamina required for the work.
- Check pets for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
- Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express external anal glands.
- Bathe pets with appropriate shampoo and conditioner; demat, brush, and fluff-dry them.
- Maintain the grooming room, including cleaning cages, tubs, and tables; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.
- Grow the customer base and service volume by making calls, cross-selling, and identifying potential service needs during downtime.
- Greet and check in guests professionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Resort Manager and/or Grooming Manager.
