Pet Stylist / Groomer- Kyle
About The Position
Pet Paradise is seeking a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist/Groomer to provide grooming services and attentive care to pets. The role includes consulting with customers about available services and costs, grooming and bathing dogs and cats, and maintaining a clean grooming area. Groomers work indoors in a heated, high-humidity environment with loud background noise from dryers. The position is full-time, with scheduling that can be flexible to resort needs. Compensation is 50% commission on grooms and 40% commission on baths, with a sign-on bonus and additional bonuses available. Team members may receive ongoing training and opportunities to develop skills for other pet-care careers within the company.
Requirements
- One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Applicants with less than one year of grooming experience may be considered for portions of the Grooming Training Program through the Paragon School.
- Customer-service orientation and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds.
- Ability to safely and comfortably handle dogs and cats of a variety of sizes.
- Strong work ethic; organized, reliable, and a team player.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times as resort scheduling needs require.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers and explain available services, services rendered, and associated costs.
- Groom several pets per day, with the stamina required to perform multiple haircuts.
- Check pets for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
- Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express anal glands.
- Bathe pets using appropriate shampoo and conditioner; demat, brush, and fluff-dry them.
- Maintain the grooming room, including cleaning cages, tubs, and tables; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment for pets.
- Adapt to resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
