About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist/Groomer to provide grooming services and attentive care to pets. The role includes consulting with customers about available services and costs, safely grooming several pets each day, and helping grow the customer base through calls and cross-selling. Groomers also maintain a clean grooming area and work in a heated, high-humidity environment with loud dryer noise. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. Compensation is 50% commission on grooms and 40% commission on baths; a sign-on bonus and additional bonuses are available.

Pet Paradise provides ongoing training and opportunities to develop skills and pursue other pet-care careers within the company. Team members may receive complimentary Pet Day Camp and boarding for their own pets, as well as discounts on grooming and veterinary care at company locations and clinics.

Requirements

• One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Customer-service orientation and excellent verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds and the ability to safely and comfortably handle dogs and cats of various sizes.
• Strong work ethic; organized, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a clean and healthy environment for guests.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Physical ability and stamina to groom several pets per day.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service through consultations and explain available services, services rendered, and associated costs.
• Safely and skillfully groom several pets per day, with the physical ability and stamina required.
• Check pets for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
• Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express external anal glands.
• Bathe pets using appropriate shampoo and conditioner; demat, brush, and fluff-dry them.
• Maintain the grooming room, including cleaning cages, tubs, and tables; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.
• Build the customer base and service volume by making calls, cross-selling, and identifying potential service needs during downtime.
• Greet and check in guests professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Resort Manager and/or Grooming Manager.
