About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist/Groomer to provide grooming services and attentive care to pets. The role includes consulting with customers, explaining available services and costs, and grooming multiple pets per day. Groomers also maintain a clean and healthy grooming environment and work in a heated, high-humidity area with loud background noise from dryers. The schedule is full-time and flexible to resort needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods. Compensation is 50% commission on grooms and 40% commission on baths; a sign-on bonus and additional bonuses are available.

Requirements

• One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Applicants with less than one year of grooming experience may be considered for parts of the Grooming Training Program through the Paragon School.
• Customer-service orientation and excellent verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds.
• Ability to safely and comfortably handle canines and felines of a variety of sizes.
• Strong work ethic; organized, reliable, and a team player.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer consultations and explain available services, services rendered, and associated costs.
• Groom several pets per day, with the ability and stamina to perform the work.
• Check pets for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
• Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express anal glands.
• Bathe pets using appropriate shampoo and conditioner; de-mat, brush, and fluff-dry them.
• Maintain the grooming room, including cleaning cages, tubs, tables, clipper blades, scissors, and brushes, and vacuuming and mopping floors.
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment for pets.
