About The Position

The Pet Groomer works at the Pet Supplies Plus store in Otsego, Minnesota, providing grooming services and customer service in a community-focused pet retail environment. The role includes grooming pets while maintaining their safety and comfort, advising pet owners, keeping the grooming area clean, and supporting general store operations. After hiring, the employee must successfully complete company-paid Safety, Bather/Brusher, and Grooming Academy training certification.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a passion for working with animals and people.
Have 1 or more years of grooming experience, with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
Successfully complete the company-paid Safety, Bather/Brusher, and Grooming Academy training certification after hiring.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Previous pet store or retail experience is welcomed, though training is available.

Responsibilities

Perform grooming services, including baths, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing, while ensuring pets’ safety and comfort.
Style pets according to owner requests or breed standards using grooming tools and techniques.
Understand pet owners’ needs and recommend products and services to support pets’ health and happiness.
Clean the grooming area, tools, and equipment regularly.
Ensure the wellness and safety of visiting pets.
Assist with daily store operations, including operating the cash register, unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and cleaning.
