AM & PM Coventry Pet Care Professional (Pet Sitting & Dog Walking)
About The Position
Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC is hiring experienced Pet Care Professionals for AM (Mornings) and PM (Evenings) pet sitting and dog walking in Coventry, RI. The ideal candidate has prior professional animal care experience, is reliable, passionate about pets, comfortable with various animals, has reliable transportation, owns a smartphone, and possesses good communication and customer service skills. This is a long-term, part-time position for individuals seeking to make a difference daily. Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC has been in business since 2006, offering dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight pet sitting. They are committed to providing the highest quality of care and professionalism.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior professional animal care experience.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Smartphone with reliable internet access.
- Daily access to email and the internet.
- Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, communication, and visit documentation.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors walking dogs year-round in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Consistent morning and evening availability Monday through Sunday (1-2 hours between 7-9 am and 6-9 pm).
- At least 10 hours per week availability.
- Professional animal care experience includes professional pet sitting or dog walking, veterinary hospital/clinic work, animal shelter/rescue organization, dog daycare/boarding facility, pet grooming salon, pet/dog training, veterinary technician/assistant, animal care technician, veterinary/animal science internships/externships, horse barns/equine facilities/farm animal care, wildlife rehabilitation/care, zoo/aquarium experience, and other professional animal care settings.
Nice To Haves
- Additional daytime availability is a plus and may provide opportunities for more hours.
- Certified Vet Techs, Certified Dog Trainers, and Fear Free Certified Professionals may receive additional pay.
Responsibilities
- Dog walking, exercising dogs, and letting them out for bathroom breaks.
- Pet sitting, feeding, and administering medications (when applicable).
- Cat care and small animal care, including litter box cleaning.
- Providing love and attention to pets while clients are away.
- Frequent travel between clients' homes throughout assigned service areas.
- Following detailed care instructions provided by the client and within the client management system.
- Leaving a note for clients after each visit to update them on how the visits went.
