Pest Control Service Technician

American Pest•Richmond, VA
•Onsite

About The Position

American Pest is hiring a Pest Control Service Technician to provide residential and commercial pest control services. Technicians manage their own routes, typically making 4–16 stops per day, and inspect properties, identify pest activity and contributing conditions, perform treatments, document work, and educate customers about treatment expectations and prevention. The work is primarily independent, with support from a manager and local team when needed. A take-home company vehicle is provided for work use only. No prior pest control experience is required. The company provides paid training, assistance preparing for and paying for state certification exams, and continuing education. Technicians progress through career levels—Registered, Professional, Advanced, Senior, and Elite—as their experience, knowledge, and certifications grow. Certified technicians receive quarterly development reviews. Advancement opportunities may include service management, branch management, residential or commercial sales, and other operational or leadership roles. This is active, hands-on work rather than a desk job. It involves outdoor work in seasonal weather, substantial driving, climbing ladders, entering crawlspaces and other tight spaces, and occasionally handling unpleasant conditions. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, typically around 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with availability required between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Overtime and some Saturday work may be required, especially during the busy summer season. Pay is $21–$36 per hour based on experience and certifications; the highest range is reserved for highly qualified technicians who meet certification, experience, and performance requirements.
