The Personal Training Director is the business owner of the Personal Training department at one assigned club location and is accountable for the department’s overall performance, profitability, and member experience. The role leads by example, upholds Company standards, serves as the location’s fitness-expertise resource, and is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-quality training team. The Director maintains trainer headcount and capacity to meet member demand and is accountable for revenue, new-client enrollment, client retention, and client results. The Director also personally services qualifying Personal Training sessions and maintains an active client base. The role is the first line of resolution for most business, operational, staffing, and performance matters within the department. When the department is below its approved staffing plan or a trainer position is vacant, the Director maintains member service and session delivery while prioritizing recruitment and placement. Matters requiring Human Resources, Legal, Regional Director of Fitness, or other designated leadership involvement must be escalated rather than resolved independently. These include formal workplace investigations and protected employee-relations matters, termination and leave-of-absence decisions, legal disputes and regulatory inquiries, changes to approved staffing plans, budgets, pricing, or Company programming, and other matters designated by policy. The Director leads the Personal Training department at one assigned club and directly manages or provides leadership oversight for Personal Training Directors in Training, Elite Trainers, Master Trainers, and Personal Trainers. The position oversees hiring, onboarding, coaching, staffing, department revenue and payroll, certification and employment documentation, Company systems and data, client experience and retention, financial integrity, loss prevention, and retail performance. The role is based at a single club location, with occasional travel for Company meetings, training, regional events, and new club support. It is an exempt role requiring a significant time commitment, including regular evenings, weekends, and extended hours as business needs require, and consistent presence on the training floor during peak member hours.
