Personal Support Assistant
About The Position
BAYADA is hiring a Personal Support Assistant for its Maui Habilitation Team. The role provides one-on-one companionship and community-based support to individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Assist clients in building independence and life skills, participating in community activities, and working toward personal goals. No experience is required; paid training is provided. This is a part-time position with flexible weekday and weekend shifts. Weekly pay starts at $20 per hour, with opportunities for higher rates when supporting clients with more complex needs. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation for community outings.
- Compassion, patience, and dependability.
- Ability to read and write in English.
Responsibilities
- Support clients one-on-one in their homes and in the community.
- Assist clients with life skills, social activities, and personal goals.
- Encourage independence through activities such as shopping, budgeting, exercise, and community outings.
- Build meaningful relationships while promoting dignity, inclusion, and safety.
