About The Position

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will support a student with staying focused in class, completing assignments, and developing new skills. You will provide respectful assistance with daily living needs such as eating and dressing, and help the student feel comfortable and safe. The role also involves supporting smoother transitions, communication, and responses to behavioral challenges through patience and redirection. You will work throughout the school, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas, and interact with teachers, staff, and sometimes families to create a safe, supportive space for the student. Flexibility and patience are important because each day brings new situations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current child First Aid/CPR certification, which must be maintained.
• Must be trained, or willing to become trained, in maintaining an ACCESS log.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• All required clearances must comply with Pennsylvania Department of Education mandated criteria for hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children is preferred, but not required.
