About The Position

Visiting Angels of Boise is hiring a Personal Care Assistant to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Caldwell, Nampa, and Meridian. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary according to each client’s needs and may involve personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, mobility assistance, companionship, and support with daily routines. Assistants must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
Provide companionship to clients.
