About The Position

The Personal Care Assistant at Welsh Mountain Home provides essential personal care services to residents to support their comfort and well-being. The role includes administering medication, assisting residents with daily activities, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, supporting dining operations, and participating in resident activities. This is a full-time position with 36-hour workweeks (72 hours bi-weekly), working 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The schedule includes every other weekend and select holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or PA Nurses’ Aide Certification.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, and ability to perform the Heimlich procedure.
Complete and maintain Medication Administration Certification, including insulin training.
Complete required 12 hours of annual training, plus any additional assigned training.
Proficiency with computers and related technology required for the role.
Good verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
Pleasant personality, flexibility, and adaptability to frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medications according to prescribed instructions and maintain accurate medication administration records.
Perform housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Support dining room operations by serving meals and assisting residents during meal times.
Participate in resident activities to promote engagement and social interaction.
Comply with health and safety regulations, including performing the Heimlich procedure when necessary.
Maintain First Aid, CPR, AED, and Medication Administration certifications, including insulin training.
Complete 12 hours of annual training and any additional assigned training.
