About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in accordance with the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the Department of Nursing framework, and specialty-specific standards of patient care. The RN uses the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibility for patient care and documentation, including delegating work to other levels of employees. Practice must comply with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care. This position covers One Day Surgery, Endoscopy, and Recovery.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Vermont RN license in good standing or compact-state RN license in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Basic Dysrhythmia.
- Complete De-escalation Training at the first course offering after hire.
- Obtain procedural sedation skills within three months of hire.
- Obtain aseptic technique skills within three months of hire.
- Knowledge of nursing care throughout the lifespan.
- Effective people skills and communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in using technology in care delivery.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred.
- Six months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas.
