About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate per diem Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The RN will work with a team of associates and support resident well-being and independence.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, per state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with elderly people is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, communicate, and document residents’ status accurately.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when backup is needed.
