About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The role is part of a team of associates who support one another and build relationships with residents. The schedule offers flexible per diem hours, and the hourly rate is $33.50–$37.50. The posting also describes the role as delivering care as a Licensed Practical Nurse, although the title and stated license requirement are for an RN.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduation from an approved RN program, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with elderly people is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants (RCAs), and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise Resident Care Assistants’ daily work assignments.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for residents’ independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems, and determine when to call for backup.
