The People Systems and Payroll Analyst is primarily responsible for managing all payroll activities and resources to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for all team members. This role oversees all aspects of the payroll cycle including time reporting, pay inputs and calculation, and payroll audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Information Management, or equivalent required
  • Strongly preferred 5 years' experience processing large multi-state payrolls in a fast-paced environment including system implementation and troubleshooting
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience including HRIS administration, HR analytics/reporting, and translating HR processes into system requirements and solutions.
  • Strong technical expertise within at least one commercial HRIS platform, experience using ADP is strongly preferred
  • Must have intermediate/advanced computer skills and possess ability to utilize computer software, HRIS, timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of payroll management, administration, tax, and accounting principles, and applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated analytical and strategic skills preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple dotted-line reporting relationships depending on the assigned task, proactively clarifying when priority or instructions are unclear
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Teams including: Ability to manage multiple inboxes, Ability to manipulate an Excel file using filters, formulas, and Pivot tables, Experience utilizing Teams for calls, chats, and file storage
  • Must have the ability to read and understand complex documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
  • Must be able to understand and speak clearly and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key partner to leadership and the People Team by supporting and optimizing HRIS and People Technology applications
  • Maintains data integrity, maintains system integrations and upgrades, develops reports and analytics, and drives process improvements
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS systems and processes, point of contact for escalations and various ad hoc requests
  • Ensures payroll tickets are correctly categorized, updated, and completed by the payroll deadline
  • Audits each payroll cycle prior to and immediately following closing
  • Ensures compliance, regulatory reporting and remittance, adherence to all requirements
  • Sets up and maintains complex work schedules to ensure that pay rules are applied correctly to employee time and attendance
  • Provides guidance on the interpretations of policies and procedures and the use of the payroll system, employee self-service and online forms; develops and conducts system related training for team members and effectively communicates changes regarding the HR and payroll system
  • Identifies payroll vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement; Develops and implements policies, procedures and process improvements to maintain the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of HR information system and improve the payroll experience for team members
  • Ensures that all operational processes are controlled from a risk perspective, and have built-in control plans and assessments to regularly review their effectiveness
  • Evaluates, develops and enforces the use of audit tools which support the payroll process
  • Ensures the confidentiality and retention of payroll information and records in accordance with established policies
  • Compiles and analyzes operational and management reports, including ad hoc reports, as requested
  • Participates in cross-training and supports People Operations / Shared Services team activities, to include attendance policy administration, benefits administration, performance management, electronic filing, audits, new hire processing and team member change requests
  • Provide support for reception/front desk on an ad hoc basis
