About The Position

An internship with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. The People & Culture Intern will work as part of a team to support the operational plan with the goal of meeting or exceeding objectives for People & Culture department. This position focuses on project-based assignments and day-to-day activities that help strengthen employee experience, engagement, and organizational culture. This role offers hands-on exposure to core HR functions within a nonprofit environment while contributing to meaningful, mission-driven work. This is a remote, paid internship available for Summer 2026.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree as a Junior or Senior in college, any year in graduate school, or a recent higher education graduate.
  • Must have reliable access to a personal laptop and stable internet connection for the duration of the internship.
  • Ability to work 8 weeks, 20 hours/week.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong detail orientation, organizational skills, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple deadlines and ask for help when needed.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for e-mail, document, and spreadsheet creation/management – specific training will be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Open to all majors, with a preference for Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects related to employee engagement, culture initiatives, or process improvement.
  • Help maintain and update employee data, documents, or systems.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the team as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional learning opportunities.
