About The Position

Charter Oak Home Care is seeking experienced caregivers, including PCA, HHA, or CNA professionals, to care for older adults in their homes. The role involves helping implement personalized care plans, supporting clients’ physical and emotional well-being, and assisting with scheduled activities and overall care management. Caregivers are expected to treat clients with compassion and help enhance their quality of life while supporting their independence at home. Shifts vary from 4 to 12 hours and are available on Saturdays and Sundays, with morning and evening options. Other weekday hours are also available. Caregivers may design a part-time or full-time schedule, with availability ranging from 4 to 40 hours per week. The position is with a family-run home care organization that has served Connecticut seniors since 1985.

Requirements

Compassion and empathy.
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to use good judgment and remain calm.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Ability to pass a background check and provide references.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
Experience as a PCA, HHA, or CNA.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional care to a client in their home.
Help execute personalized weekly schedules and care plans.
Provide companionship and ongoing social and emotional support.
Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, light housekeeping, feeding, and meal preparation.
Prioritize order, safety, and client enjoyment.
Provide transportation to and from appointments as needed.
Document completed tasks and report changes in the client's condition.
