About The Position

Hy-Vee Demonstrators bring products to life for customers by preparing and presenting product demonstrations, offering samples, sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and making suggestions about product preparation and use. The role focuses on creating an engaging, positive shopping experience through friendly customer service and product recommendations. Demonstrators organize and stock demonstration supplies, maintain a clean work area, follow proper sanitation and personal hygiene procedures, and adhere to dress standards and store policies. They work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment, answer customer calls, assist in other store areas as needed, complete special projects, and report to work as scheduled and on time. This is a fast-paced retail store role that involves being on your feet throughout the shift. The anticipated starting wage is $13.00 to $16.25 per hour, depending on experience. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer customer questions about products and explain products, including suggestions for preparation and use.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures and maintain personal hygiene and dress standards.
Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to customers who call.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
