About The Position

We are seeking an entry-level Payroll Administration / Accounts Payable professional to support day-to-day payroll activities and assist with processing assigned Accounts Payable invoices. This role will split time between assisting the Senior Payroll Administrator and processing A/P invoices (including freight invoices and other assigned invoice types). The position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism with sensitive information, and comfort working in an ERP environment, including Deltek.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounting support, or an administrative finance role (internship experience accepted) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Organized, dependable, and deadline-oriented
  • Comfortable working with repetitive transactions while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize work across payroll and A/P responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a structured processing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and ability to follow documented processes / procedures
  • Experience using Deltek ERP (or similar ERP/accounting systems)
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts (invoice coding, cost centers, GL accounts)
  • Prior experience processing freight invoices and/or high-volume invoice entry
  • Experience supporting payroll processes, timekeeping, or HR/payroll coordination

Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll processing preparation activities such as data collection, validation, and audit support
  • Enter, review, and reconcile payroll-related data in Deltek ERP and other supporting systems as applicable
  • Help track and resolve payroll inquiries by gathering documentation and routing issues appropriately
  • Support accurate maintenance of payroll records and files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and period-end/payroll close support as assigned
  • Process assigned Accounts Payable invoices, including freight invoices and other designated invoice types
  • Validate invoice accuracy (pricing, quantities, PO/receiver match where applicable, approvals, and coding)
  • Enter invoices into Deltek ERP, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal policies
  • Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies by coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Maintain organized invoice files and support A/P reporting and audit requests as needed
  • Assist with maintaining the AP Inbox
