About The Position

Associa is seeking a Security Officer responsible for maintaining the overall security of a property. The role uses preventive measures to deter theft, vandalism, property damage, violence, and safety violations. Officers may patrol by vehicle, monitor property access and deliveries, assist guests with information and directions, enforce parking regulations, and respond to alarms and emergencies. The position requires remaining alert to potential risks and communicating with emergency personnel when needed. This is a full-time graveyard-shift position, scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with variable days off. The listed location is 42-635 Melanie Place, Suite 103, Palm Desert, CA 92211. Compensation is $20.00–$22.00 per hour; direct experience is highly considered.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Guard Card required.
Knowledge of state or local governmental safety requirements.
Proficient knowledge of conflict-resolution techniques.
Professional customer service skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.
Ability to interpret and complete verbal and/or written instructions proficiently.
Time-management and time-critical prioritization skills.
Able to meet the physical demands described, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Responsibilities

Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
Greet incoming guests and tenants and provide information about the site and surrounding area as requested.
Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence, and rule or safety violations.
Perform fire prevention, safety, and maintenance tasks, as well as parking and traffic enforcement.
Maintain property security, monitor access and incoming deliveries, and assist with visitor sign-in and sign-out as applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
