About The Position
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Patient Visit Specialist to support patients and guests at its Cancer Center. The role provides service and operational support, personally guiding patients who are unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destinations and providing a warm hand-off to staff. The specialist works directly with providers to coordinate each patient’s care. The position supports scheduling, insurance verification and authorization, payment collection, billing accuracy, patient records, research appointments, and daily office operations. It also serves as a point of contact for providers and staff with scheduling questions or concerns.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical or physician office, or a comparable healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework in insurance or billing.
- Medical practice education or seminars.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for providers and staff regarding patient scheduling questions or concerns.
- Obtain insurance verification and secure authorizations required for Cancer Center services.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule office and infusion appointments.
- Coordinate port placements with interventional radiology.
- Coordinate chemotherapy and direct admissions with providers.
- Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
- Schedule research patients according to research protocols.
- Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
- Guide patients unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destination and provide a warm hand-off to staff.
- Work with providers to coordinate care for each patient.
