About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Patient Visit Specialist to support patients and guests at the Cancer Center. The specialist provides a high level of customer service, personally guides patients who are unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destinations, and provides a warm hand-off to staff. The role works directly with providers to coordinate care for each patient and supports the Cancer Center’s scheduling, billing, recordkeeping, and day-to-day office operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical or physician office or comparable healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in insurance or billing, medical practice education, or seminars.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a point of contact for providers and staff with patient scheduling questions or concerns.
• Obtains insurance verification and secures authorizations required for Cancer Center services.
• Schedules, confirms, and reschedules appointments.
• Collects payments and supports accurate billing processes.
• Schedules research patients according to research protocols.
• Maintains patient records and supports day-to-day office operations.
• Guides patients who are unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destinations and provides a warm hand-off to staff.
• Works with providers to coordinate care for each patient.
