About The Position

The Patient Transporter provides prompt, courteous transportation services to patients and visitors and helps coordinate communication and services among inpatient, emergency department, and ancillary services. The role follows policies, procedures, and regulations to support compliance and patient safety. It transports patients throughout the hospital for medical procedures and, after discharge, by wheelchair to private transportation. The transporter monitors and promptly fulfills requests in the scheduling system, helps ensure patients remain safe and comfortable, and maintains equipment through regular safety inspections, cleaning, and storage.

The position is full-time in Radiology, with hours from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Healthcare provider CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous transportation services to patients and visitors.
• Collaborate on communication and services among inpatient, emergency department, and ancillary services.
• Transport patients throughout the hospital to various locations for medical procedures.
• Transport discharged patients by wheelchair to private transportation.
• Monitor the scheduling system for transport requests and complete requests promptly.
• Ensure patients are safe and comfortable during transport.
• Maintain equipment through regular safety inspections, cleaning, and storage.
• Follow policies, procedures, and regulations to support compliance and patient safety.
