About The Position
Crothall Healthcare is hiring a full-time Patient Transporter at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. The position facilitates internal hospital patient moves and is responsible for safely, accurately, and promptly transporting patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations. The schedule is 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with days varying and rotating weekends required. The fixed pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Prior customer service experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, secure the patient, and take care with IVs, drainage tubes, and other attached equipment.
- Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients.
- Demonstrate competency in transporting patients across specific age groups.
- Transport patients safely, accurately, and on time using the proper requested equipment.
- Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
- Attend to patient comfort, including offering blankets, maintaining modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation; do not transport patients in severe pain.
- Immediately alert nursing staff to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
- Maintain equipment and report equipment that needs repairs.
- Comply with federal, state, JCAHO, and other regulatory agency standards.
- Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
