About The Position

The Transporter - Radiology transports patients to and from the department and provides clerical and general support. Duties may include darkroom work, ordering and stocking supplies, dressing patients, answering telephones, greeting patients, preparing outpatient requisitions, filing patient reports, retrieving records for physicians or medical records, and running errands throughout the facility. The role requires familiarity with usual terminology for tests ordered in the department, good telephone etiquette, and a polite, friendly manner when interacting with patients and visitors. Clerical support is provided using a telephone, computer, office equipment, and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System).

Requirements

Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate knowledge of usual terminology for tests ordered in the department.
Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors politely and in a friendly manner.
