About The Position

The Patient Transporter assists and supports all departments by transporting patients between units and departments using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. The role includes confirming patient identity, ensuring patient comfort and safety, assisting with lifting, moving, and positioning patients, and sharing patient information as needed. The transporter also maintains transport equipment and coordinates with other transporters to support smooth transport operations.

Requirements

Demonstrate a positive demeanor and strong verbal communication skills.
Be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multitask.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from departments and units, verifying patient identity and supporting comfort and safety.
Assist patients with lifting, moving, and positioning in beds or wheelchairs, and provide relevant patient information.
Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers; check oxygen supplies, replenish them, change regulators as needed, and initiate repair requests when necessary.
Coordinate with other transporters around patient schedules to ensure smooth transport operations.
Communicate patient information to nurses and diagnostic departments as necessary.
