About The Position

This position supports all departments by transporting patients between units and departments using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. The role includes identifying patients, helping maintain their comfort and safety, and sharing relevant patient information with care and diagnostic teams. The transporter also maintains transport equipment and coordinates with other transporters to support smooth operations.

Requirements

Demonstrate a positive demeanor.
Have strong verbal communication skills.
Be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multitask.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
CPR.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from departments and units, ensuring appropriate patient identification, comfort, and safety, including assisting with lifting, moving, and positioning patients in beds or wheelchairs.
Provide patient information as needed during transport.
Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers, and initiate appropriate action when repairs are needed.
Check oxygen supplies and replenish them or change regulators as necessary.
Coordinate with other transporters around patient schedules to ensure smooth transport operations.
Communicate patient information to nurses and diagnostic departments as necessary.
