About The Position

The Service Associate functions as a Patient Transporter, receiving assignments manually or through a computerized system. The role involves moving patients throughout the hospital by wheelchair or cart for various reasons. The transporter uses infection prevention and patient transfer techniques, along with knowledge of appropriate routes, to move patients safely and efficiently. The position requires communication with nursing and clinical staff, recognizing when to ask for help or further guidance, and protecting the integrity of patients’ tubes, lines, and collection devices. The role also includes moving patient valuables and equipment.

Requirements

• Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
