About The Position

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a per diem Patient Transporter for its Central Transport department. The position is located at St. Mary Medical Center and has rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. The Patient Transporter moves patients throughout the hospital and hospital campus while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. St. Mary Medical Center describes itself as a 53-acre facility with more than 700 physicians, nearly 3,000 colleagues, and 1,100 volunteers, serving the healthcare needs of Bucks County.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association; may be completed during onboarding if offered the position.
• Fingerprint and Child Abuse History Clearance; may be completed during onboarding if offered the position.

Nice To Haves

• One year of prior hospital experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients throughout the hospital.
• Observe for and report safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.
• Transport patients on stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs between hospital areas and designated locations within the hospital campus, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Promptly report patient concerns and happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.
• Cooperatively assist with lifting patients in and out of bed as requested, using proper lifting techniques.
• Clean wheelchairs and ensure each area has an adequate number.
• Keep an incident log of transports.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
