About The Position

This position supports all departments by transporting patients to and from units and departments using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. The role includes ensuring proper patient identification, comfort, and safety, communicating relevant patient information, and coordinating with other transporters to support smooth transport operations. The position is based on-site at Burlington Hospital in Willingboro and is per diem.

Requirements

Demonstrate a positive demeanor.
Have strong verbal communication skills.
Be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multitask.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
CPR.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from departments and units, ensuring appropriate patient identification, comfort, and safety.
Assist patients with lifting, moving, and positioning in beds or wheelchairs, and provide patient information as needed.
Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers; check oxygen supplies, replenish them, and change regulators as necessary.
Initiate appropriate action when wheelchair or stretcher repairs are required.
Coordinate with other transporters based on patient schedules to support smooth transport operations.
Communicate patient information to nurses and diagnostic departments as necessary.
