About The Position

The Phlebotomist adheres to policies and procedures while collecting and processing patient specimens for testing in accordance with laboratory protocols. The role performs laboratory tasks in pre- and post-analytic phases and prepares specimens according to collection procedures to support accurate and reliable results. The position is per diem and part time, on-site at Burlington Hospital in Willingboro, and works the first shift.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience, with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy training is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist in a medical setting.
• ASCP, NHA, or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients, perform phlebotomy, and label specimens.
• Verify, process, and ship specimens, and front-load specimens on instruments for testing.
• Perform pre-analytical processes, including registration and ordering.
• Provide outstanding customer service through effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
• Perform clerical functions, including telephone communication, report generation, and faxing.
