About The Position

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a per diem Patient Transporter for its Central Transport department. The role transports patients throughout the hospital and within the hospital campus on stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The position works rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association; may be completed during onboarding if offered the position.
• Fingerprint and Child Abuse History Clearance; may be completed during onboarding if offered the position.

Nice To Haves

• One year of prior hospital experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients throughout the hospital and to designated areas within the hospital campus using stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.
• Observe and report safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.
• Promptly report patient concerns and happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.
• Assist cooperatively with lifting patients in and out of bed when requested, using proper lifting techniques.
• Clean wheelchairs and ensure each area has an adequate number.
• Keep an incident log of transports.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
