About The Position
The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for an Interim Patient Support Technician for Falls Community Health. The position is limited to a maximum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours based on clinic needs. Patient Support Technicians provide customer service to patients and work closely with clinical teams as directed. Interim employees qualify for the City’s health insurance program but receive no other benefits.
Requirements
- Experience with customer service duties at the front desk in a health clinic environment.
- Familiarity with an EMR system.
Responsibilities
- Schedule, confirm, and register patients for clinic appointments in person and over the phone.
- Verify financial eligibility and third-party coverage, collect payments, and answer billing questions.
- Work closely with clinical teams as directed.
- Scan and maintain patient medical records.
- Arrange patient transportation and coordinate access to care and disease prevention.
