Patient Aide I (Interim)
About The Position
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility in Hanson, Kentucky, committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. The facility is seeking a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I to provide care in a team-centered environment. The position assists residents with personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, safety, psychosocial needs, meals and supplements, exercise, and mobility. Work takes place in a health care facility and may involve exposure to abnormal behaviors, contagious diseases, blood, and body fluids. Safety procedures must be followed. A fingerprint-supported national background check will be conducted before an employment offer. The agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, including grooming, nutrition, elimination, safety, and psychosocial needs.
- Assist residents with restorative dining, regular meals, and supplement feedings.
- Assist residents with exercise and mobility by transferring, transporting, positioning, and ambulating them.
- Work within a team-centered environment to support the facility’s commitment to serving Kentucky’s Veterans.
