About The Position

The Patient Sitter observes patients assessed as confused, combative, at risk of harming themselves, or at risk of falling. The sitter contacts the staff nurse as appropriate when concerns arise and works under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care. This is a part-time position scheduled for two 12-hour shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior work experience is required.
No licenses or certifications are required.

Responsibilities

Observe patients who have been assessed as confused, combative, potentially harmful to themselves, or at risk of falling.
Contact the staff nurse as appropriate with concerns.
Work under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care.
