About The Position

The Patient Sitter observes patients assessed as confused, combative, at risk of harming themselves, or at risk of falling. The sitter contacts the staff nurse as appropriate when concerns arise and works under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care. The position has 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
No work experience required.
No licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

Observe patients who have been assessed as confused, combative, potentially at risk of causing themselves harm, or at risk of falling.
Contact the staff nurse as appropriate with concerns.
Work under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care.
