Patient Sitter - Behavioral Health

About The Position
The Patient Sitter observes patients assessed as confused or combative, at risk of causing harm to themselves, or at risk of falling. The sitter contacts the staff nurse as appropriate when concerns arise and works under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care. The schedule is 12-hour shifts, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- No work experience required.
- No licenses or certifications required.
Responsibilities
- Observe patients assessed as confused, combative, at risk of causing themselves harm, or at risk of falling.
- Contact the staff nurse as appropriate with concerns.
- Work under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care.
