About The Position

The Patient Sitter observes patients assessed as confused, combative, at risk of harming themselves, or at risk of falling. The sitter contacts the staff nurse as appropriate when concerns arise and works under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No work experience required.
• No licenses or certifications required.

• Observe patients assessed as confused, combative, at risk of harming themselves, or at risk of falling.
• Contact the staff nurse as appropriate with concerns.
• Function under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient's care.
