About The Position

The Patient Services Specialist provides patient-facing administrative support for Teen Health, covering General Medicine and Behavioral Health appointments. The role supports an excellent patient experience through compassionate customer service, accurate registration and patient information management, and effective coordination of front-desk activities. The position works in a fast-paced office environment, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Computer experience.
• Customer relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience.
• Interact effectively with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations.
• Use critical thinking and decisive judgment in a busy environment, working cohesively with a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collections, cash receipting, and arrival and departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines.
• Encourage patients to use front-end technology during registration.
• Enter and maintain confidential, accurate patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment details, throughout the patient encounter.
• Assist with billing functions accurately and/or direct patients to the appropriate billing office.
• Demonstrate proficiency with emergency codes, appropriate responses, and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
• Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications and equipment.
