About The Position

As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you will work as part of a team to provide registration, concierge, and clerical services. The role supports patients and visitors through greeting and communication, registration and check-in, appointment scheduling, and patient record maintenance. The position also includes documenting calls in the EHR, identifying health maintenance gaps, and participating in safety initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• A one-year vocational/technical certificate from a college or technical school, depending on the Corewell Health entity and department.
• One year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or another related area.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with patients and visitors as a concierge.
• Perform clerical functions, including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, processing and sorting mail and supply deliveries, and processing registration reports.
• Identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Document patient phone calls in the EHR for call routing or resolution.
• Perform patient registration and check-in by confirming demographic and insurance information and assisting with self-registration and arrival.
• Perform patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments or confirming future appointments.
• Maintain patient medical records according to standards and upload Right Fax documents into EPIC.
• Perform basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigating measures where appropriate, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
